Memorial website in the memory of your loved one

This memorial website was created in the memory of our loving son, Alvin Rodgers, Jr. (A.J.) who was born in Lakewood California on April 30, 1984. AJ was born the oldest of 3 boys to Alvin Sr. and Ingrid Rodgers. AJ loved to read just about anything he could get his hands on. He also loved to write short stories in his composition book whether he was supposed to or not. He loved a good joke and could give as good as he got.
When he decided to go into the Navy right after high school I worried that at 6'7" inches  he may be too tall. My worries were quickly set aside when his 6'6" inch recruiter came to visit. It was a tough day watching him leave for boot camp.
He really loved the Navy, especially the travel. He got a chance to visit Australia, Malaysia (he really loved it), Japan, Hawaii and a host of other places. But being home in Long Beach was his favorite place and he never passed up a chance to come home when he could. He loved being with his brothers and hanging out at the mall when he was home. And we always had to have our mother/son dinner before he returned to the ship. His last duty station was Bremerton, Washington where he served aboard the USS John C. Stennis CVN-74. He worked on the flight deck in the Fuels Division and qualified as Aircraft Refueling Crew Leader.
AJ, we miss you and we love you. We'll see you at the Crossroads, my son.

I want to thank everyone that has lit a candle for my son and those that will light one. A special thanks to my favorite earth angels:  Connie, aunt of angel Sammy Pepe and sister to angel Domenic;  Dianne, mom of angel Nicholas White,  Donna, mom of angel Christopher Temple, Rose, Grandmother of angel Brittany Syfert , Randi, mom of angel Mark Espinal and Alan, dad of angel Clint Reagan. You angels never forget A.J. and for that I am grateful. Please visit their angel sites and light a candle for them as well. God bless you all.

Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones shines down to let us know they are with us.
